Pauline Wilder
1933 - 2017
On December 16, 2017, Pauline Wilder’s spirit rose above this earth. More than likely, her favorite horse, Christy, was waiting in the wings to carry her away on her final ride into the sunset.
Born July 3, 1933, to Marie and Onnie Narron, Pauline and her four sisters (Kirvin Narron Satterwhite, Wilma Narron Boykin, Lala Narron Hollamon and Estelle Narron Pegram) grew up on their family farm in rural Johnston County, North Carolina. She was married to Hugh Braxton Wilder, with whom she shared two children and two grandchildren.
She was a chemist by trade and an altruist by heart. Her passions included horseback riding, spending time with her two and four-legged loved ones and pretty much any activity affording her an opportunity to be outdoors to thoroughly appreciate God’s beauty in nature.
Pauline’s enduring gift to the world was nurturing others through her gentle strength, immeasurable affection, and her incomparable fried chicken.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her surviving family: children, Greg Wilder (wife,Woody) and Paulette Wilder (husband,Carl Schumacher); grandchildren, Dylan Wilder Schumacher and Ally Wilder Schumacher; sister, Wilma Boykin; eight nieces and nephews and many, many others whose lives she touched and cared for.
A formal service is not planned. However, a celebration of her amazing spirit and life well lived should commence immediately by each and every one of us blessed to have lived within the light of her love.
