Phena Joy Lynn

     Phena Joy Lynn, 57, of Sylva passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.  Born on November 15, 1961 in Tampa, FL, she was a daughter of the late Tillmon Harvey Messer and Rachel Ann Hampton.

     In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse, Tony R. Lynn; children, Nathan, Nathaniel, and Naaman; mother-in-law, Eloise Johnson; and nephew, Edward Eugene Bernhisel. She was a member of Whittier Church of God, and was devout in her religion. 

     She enjoyed writing letters and listening to music.  Surviving are her son, Philip M. Lynn of Sylva; siblings, David Messer of Plant City, FL, and Lotta Bernhisel and her spouse, Joe, of Cherokee; nieces and nephews, Amanda Long, Aaron Messer, and Elisha Messer; and several great nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm, on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Whittier Church of God.
