Richard Jonathan “Dick” Orell, 70, of Black Mountain, North Carolina, formerly of Wellfleet, Massachusetts, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019, at his residence.
Dick was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on April 10, 1949, to the late Walter E. and Helen E. Lindstrom Orell. He was a creator and designer at Sea Oat design. He enjoyed gardening and treasured his mountain home and his beloved animals. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Blakely; and a brother, Robert Orell.
Survivors include six nieces, Christina MacFadzen of Springfield, Massachusetts, Barbara Blakely of Andover, Kansas, Caroline Bradshaw of Anchorage, Alaska, Elizabeth Livingston of Anchorage, Alaska, Susan Orell Lauseng of Port Aransas, Texas, Jen Orell of Anchorage, Alaska; and two nephews, Robert Blakely of Birmingham, Alabama and Walter Orell of Anchorage, Alaska.
A memorial and remembrance service will be held at a later date in Wellfleet, Massachusetts.
