Robert Lamont Milton

Robert L. Milton, 68, passed away from a lengthy battle with COPD on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020. Youngest of three born to Lawrence E. and Helen Milton. Was a resident over 30 years in the Jacks Creek Community, of Green Mountain, NC. A retired school teacher from Mitchell High School, in which he ran the banner program for the athletic department and was the admissions clerk for football, basketball, & baseball home games. Also assisted, mentally disabled children at the Mountain Opportunity Center. Robert enjoyed helping others where he could, just like his Mother which was a caretaker for many years. In Robert's spare time you could find him fishing, listening to classic rock, or visiting family in Florida. He was survived by his loving Son, Christopher B. Milton of Yancey County, NC; Brother, Larry E. (Carolyn) Milton II of Frostproof, Florida; & Grand-daughter, Elon. Preceded by Parents listed above; Brother, George C. Milton; & Infant Sister, Eva Joyce Milton. Burial on Saturday, Feb. 1st, 2020 at 3 pm in the Milton Family plot at Silver Hill Cemetery - Frostproof, Florida. Celebration of life to follow on Sunday, Feb. 2nd, 2020 1 pm - 5 pm at the Frostproof Community Center (Located at 137 East Wall Street).
