Robert Morrison Obituary

Robert Leon “Pappa” Morrison, 93, passed away on April 5, 2018. Pappa was born on January 19, 1925 in Kansas. He served 8 years in the United States Navy and retired from the Coast Guard as a Sr. Chief Petty Officer after 27 years of service to our country. Pappa loved to take road trips, especially for family reunions. He was a master tailor and carpenter. He loved to build bird houses and spending time in his garden.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his beloved friend of 40 years, Donald Tinsley. He also leaves behind a sister, Ina Mae(Merle) Zieders of Riverside, CA; step-daughter, Carolyn (Steven) Barry of Rhode Island; grandchildren, Rachel Tinsley of Savanna, GA; Hannah Tinsley of Oxford, MS; 1 great-grandchild, Kira Echols of Savanna, GA; 11 nephews and nieces and a host of great nephews and nieces who all loved him dearly.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on May 12, 2018 at the VFW post in Brevard at 12:00 noon.
