Robert Theodore Sears Jr., 68, entered into rest at his Hendersonville home on October 28, 2019. He was the son of the late Velma Sisk Sears and Robert Theodore Sears. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tommie June Sears.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, Robert worked for many years at Cone Mills in Cliffside. He had an extraordinary affinity for nature and was an extremely talented artist who loved working with his hands. His many barn quilt designs from the Pennsylvania - Dutch tradition decorate many barns around Western North Carolina. Robert was also a music enthusiast who loved to find and share new songs with family and friends.
He is survived by many family members that loved him, including his wife Alicia Haines Sears, his daughter, Tommie Sears Thomas, son-in-law Neel Thomas, grandchildren, Ellison and Grant Thomas of Raleigh, uncle Horris Sisk Jr. of Kings Mountain, brother Philip (Sandy) Sears of Gastonia, niece Melissa Sears Wilson of Clover, SC.
