Thomas Adam Ward, 22, of Asheville passed away on October 28, 2017. He was born to Adam and Susan Ward on April 3, 1995. As a child, Thomas was active and a “handful”. He loved to dress up in character, role playing as heroes from Star Wars, complete with lightsaber combat and full dialogue recitation. He attended Asheville High School, volunteered his time at the Full Moon Farm in Black Mountain, and wanted to pursue a career in rehabilitating wildlife. Thomas loved exploring and learning new things. He was highly interested in the history of the ancient and medieval world, mythology, linguistics, and mythopoeic fiction. He enjoyed fiction inspired by the traditions of the Celts and Norse such as Game of Thrones and Vikings. He was deeply loyal to his friends and family and his passionate and inspired spirit is deeply missed. In addition to his parents, Thomas is survived by his brother, Chris Ward; grandmother, Hope Ward and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 2:00PM in the Lelia Patterson Center on the campus of Fletcher Academy. Arrangements entrusted to Asheville Mortuary Services.
