Wilma Reece Obituary

Wilma Ingle Reece passed away peacefully on August 3, 2019. Wilma was born in Asheville on July 7, 1941 to the late Hazel Garland Ingle and Walter Irvin Ingle. She graduated from Biltmore High School and later from Haywood Community College.

Wilma was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and was a passionate caregiver and friend to so many. She worked in the ER at Haywood County Hospital for many years and later worked in home health and assisted living. She also owned Jim's Drive In in Waynesville for several years. Many of her children's friends knew her as Mama Wilma or Ms Wilma and enjoyed many meals and sweet iced tea at her home.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Harold Buddy Reece, sister, Barbara Fowler, a brother Ervin Ingle and a beloved son, Ryan Reece.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kelly Davis (Randy), David Reece (Shera), Becky Reece and Randy Reece and a daughter in law, Paige Reece as well as Her sister in law Mary Margaret Ingle. Her precious grandchildren, whom she adored are Hunter Davis, David Nelson Reece, Lydia, Kelly and Shelby Reece, Bradley Thurman (Allie) and Aaron Thurman (Tessa) as well as her great grandchildren, Blakeley Thurman and Wyatt Thurman.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Friday, August 9th, at 12:00 at Haywood Street Church, 297 Haywood Street, Asheville, with a reception to follow.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at McCune Center in Black Mountain for their care of mom for the past several months and to Four Seasons Hospice in Hendersonville for their compassion and care in her final days.
