Aaron “Tater” Douglas Bruner passed away peacefully in his Fairview home on July 24, 2021 at the age of 37.
Tater was born on December 31, 1983, in Knoxville, TN. He was a graduate of Central High School. He was known throughout his life to be a very quiet, compassionate, and humble soul. His smile and laugh and quirky sense of humor was infectious to anyone who met him; never once did he meet a stranger. After graduating high school, his eagerness to experience life took him on many different adventures. He became an avid hiker and especially enjoyed weeks solo on the Appalachian Trail. As long as he had a hammock and a bag of potatoes (hence the nickname “Tater”), he was ready for wilderness survival, and expertly so. He also loved the water and became certified as a river guide. Tater was an incredible guitarist and vocalist; it was always a pleasure to sit around a campfire and listen to his tunes. He was an accomplished and skilled carpenter who worked in home renovations.
Tater is preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Gail Bruner.
Tater is survived by his mother Sharon Barnes Lewis, father Gordon Bruner, daughter Ruby Addison Bruner, grandmother Billie Barnes, sister Kendall Bruner, two nieces Brianna and Brooklyn Taylor, and his loving girlfriend Tanaya Morris and her son Austin Worrell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Creek Ridge Campground in Hot Springs on September 25, 2021, at 1:00 PM. Please contact Keith McCall for details at (828) 989-1275.
