Alexander McAuley Robinson Jr.

Alexander McAuley Robinson Jr., age 82, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025.

Born on January 29, 1943, in Charlotte, NC, Alexander was the son of the late Alexander M. Robinson Sr. and Dorothy H. Robinson. He spent his early years in Charlotte and Newell, NC, and was a proud graduate of East Mecklenburg High School. He continued his education at Charlotte College, now known as the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Alexander dedicated his professional life to the field of utility contracting, where he was known for his integrity, hard work, and commitment to excellence. He also served faithfully as an Elder at Back Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Charlotte and later attended Pinecrest ARP Church in Flat Rock, NC.

A man of quiet passions, Alexander found joy in bird watching, gardening, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. His love for nature and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures were evident to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Alexander M. Robinson III and his sister Suzanne R. Hardy.

He is survived by his loving and adoring wife of 60 years, Betty W. Robinson; his children, Lee McAuley Robinson and wife Melinda of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Scott A. Robinson of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren, Meghan Lee Robinson of Charlotte, NC, and Jacob Robinson of Ft. Benning, GA; his brother, Rev. Timothy Robinson and wife Lynn of Burlington, NC; along with two nieces, five nephews, and many cousins who will continue to cherish his memory.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Back Creek Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Back Creek ARP Church of Charlotte or the Hendersonville Rescue Mission, in honor of Alexander’s life and legacy.
