Allan Brown Kime, Jr.

     Allan Brown Kime, Jr. of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at Aston Park Health Care Center on February 11, 2020, at the age of 86.

     Al was born on December 7, 1933, in New York City and grew up in central New Jersey; he attended Newark Academy and graduated from Scotch Plains High School. He graduated in 1956 from Lehigh University, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, with a degree in electrical engineering. His thirty-nine year career included positions with Bethlehem Steel, GE Aerospace, and Lockheed Martin. Al and his family resided for more than four decades in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. He served for many years as head usher, treasurer, and property chairman at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Blue Bell. He was an avid sports fan, attending more than sixty consecutive Lehigh-Lafayette football games (college football’s most played rivalry) and loved playing tennis well into his later years. He will also be remembered for his love of the music of Frank Sinatra. A man of few words, Al’s quick wit and dry sense of humor made him lovable by all who knew him.

     He is preceded in death by his father, Allan Brown Kime, Sr., and mother, Virginia Eyster Kime.

     He is survived by his best friend and wife of sixty years, Anne George Kime, son, Fred (Kathryn), daughter Jennifer, grandsons Nolan, Griffin, and George Kime and granddaughter Lydia Shelley.

     The family is especially grateful to MemoryCare and Dr. Meg Word-Sims, and to the caring and supportive staff at Aston Park Heath Care Center.
