Alton Dargan Felder of Arden, North Carolina, passed January 28, 2024. Born to the late Marion Dargan Felder and Anna Mamie Collins in Branchville, South Carolina, Alton was eighty-six years old.
Alton graduated with Bowman High School’s Class of 1955. He worked with Giant Cement, ABF and Grandy Company over the course of his lifetime. Alton was a fisherman, golfer and a hunter. He enjoyed caring for others through acts like checking in on his neighbors, delivering corn and collecting aluminum cans.
Alton was survived by his wife of 15 years, Jann Felder, who passed January 30, 2024. He is survived by his children, Marvin R. Felder (Laura) of Candler, Beth Felder Bradley of Asheville, North Carolina, Brian D. Felder (Summer) of Branchville, South Carolina, and step-son, Michael Keleher (Rebekah) of Candler; sisters, Joann Etheridge (Bobby)of Branchville, and Sandra Arant (Michael),Eastover, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jennifer Knox (Jeff), Michael Felder (Heather), Jacob Felder, and Sarah Angel (Brett) all of Arden, Rick Bradley (Mandy) of Candler, and Katelyn Felder of Mills River, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Riley Angel, Reagan Angel, Cecilia Knox, Grady Felder, Greer Felder, Victoria Felder, Cody Lambert and Candace Tinsley; great-great-grandchildren, Mason Moore and Emma Tinsley; and many nieces and nephews.
Alton was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Lois Connelly Felder, brother, John Robert Felder, son-in-law, Denver Eric Bradley, and grandson, Jason Eric Mullen.
A memorial service will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon of Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Overlook Road). Troy Rogers will officiate. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at two o’clock. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International.
