Barbara Ann Harris

Barbara Ann Harris, 70, of Brevard, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Born August 24, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Emmless Rosevelt Collins and Margaret Davis Collins. She was employed by Transylvania Vocational Services, and was a member of Mt. Underwood Baptist Church in Penrose NC and previously of Midway Bible Baptist Church of Brevard. Of her many enjoyments in life, working a good crossword, traveling the country, shopping, and spending time with her family were among her favorite ways to enjoy her time. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Archie Harley Harris Sr of Brevard her daughter in-law Melissa Harris of Brevard and siblings, Louise Collins, Jimmy Collins, Vera Harris, and Shirley Collins. Surviving; children, Archie Harris Jr., Pamela Hoxit and her spouse, Jonathan Hoxit, Jody Harris, and Billy Harris all of Brevard, NC; siblings, Junior Collins and his spouse, Sallie Collins, of Brevard, NC, Charles Collins, and Brenda Collins both of Laurens, SC; grandchildren, Jonathan C. Hoxit and his spouse, Hope Hoxit, of Brevard, NC, Kimberly Ashe and her spouse, Isaac Ashe, of Pisgah Forest, NC, and Cheyenne Paytee and her spouse, Fabian Paytee, of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Eathan Hoxit of Brevard, NC, Brantley Ashe of Pisgah Forest, NC, Walker Ashe of Pisgah Forest, NC, Weston Hoxit  of Brevard, NC, Emerald Hoxit of Brevard, NC, Mayson Paytee of Cairo, GA, and Jasmine Paytee of Cairo, GA, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Solid Rock Baptist Church with family receiving friends from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Pastor Carol Gosnell will be officiating the service.  Her final resting place will be at Harris Cemetery in Jackson County at a later date.
