Barbara "Bobby" Joan (Tschudi) Whitehair

Barbara “Bobby” Joan (Tschudi) Whitehair passed away April 16, 2025 in Hendersonville, N.C., at the age of 95. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 29, 1929.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Elton Dale Whitehair; and survived by her sons Dean J. Whitehair and Dana E. Whitehair; daughters-in-law Pamela Theilman Whitehair and Serena Elam Whitehair; her sister, Jane (Tschudi) Ruth; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. A brother, Donald Tschudi preceded her in death.

Bobby graduated from Fairmont High School in 1948 and attended Miami Valley Hospital nurses training program. Besides being a homemaker and mother, she occasionally worked as an assistant and practical nurse for several doctors and hospitals. She and Dale lived and raised a family on the same street in West Carrollton, Ohio for most of their lives, until they moved to the community of Connestee Falls, in Brevard, North Carolina. She most recently resided at the Fletcher Park Inn senior living apartments.

She was active throughout her life in community and church organizations and volunteered as a park ranger for both the LBJ and Jimmy Carter Historical Centers, and volunteered at the Transylvania Regional Hospital. She and Dale traveled the US extensively in their RVs in retirement.

Bobby will be remembered by friends and family for her love and dedication to the people in her life.
