Betty J. (Heath) Barton

            Betty J. Heath Barton, beloved wife of the late Douglas Barton, died on Sunday, September 24th, 2023, at the age of 86. Born on December 31st, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Elzie and Ethel Heath. Mrs. Barton worshipped at “In the Bible Mission” and was of the Baptist Faith. Going to Church and her Church Family were highlights of her week. She enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables, and cooking Holiday meals for her family and friends.

            She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Morgan (LaMont), Wanda Wells (Jeff) and Patricia Eubanks (Elzie); and a son Roger Barton (Lynn); grandchildren, Jesse Morgan (Janice), Jessica Jennings, Joseph Barton, Jennifer Queen (Josh), Cindy Wells and Curtis Morgan; sisters, Vera Catron (Dan), Mary Ball (Harold), Becky Owen (James); sisters-in-law, Bobbie Harper (Henry), Virgie Heath (Vaughn), Linda Fisher (John), Helen Hoxit (Stanley); brother-in-law, Kenneth Barton (Colita); and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and loved ones.

            She was preceded in death by daughters, Kathy Lynn Barton and Martha Faye Barton (infants); granddaughter, Julia Lynn Barton; sisters, Carolyn Jones and Frances Compton Romeo; brothers, Grady Ray, Johnny Heath (Peggy) and Robert “Bud” Heath (Virgie); sisters-in-law, Peggy Heath (Johnny), Rita Taylor (Robert); and brothers-in-law, Harold Ball (Mary), Benny Barton, Dan Barton, John Fisher (Linda) and Robert Taylor (Rita).

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to “In the Bible Mission” (131 Island Ford Road, Brevard, NC 28712).
