Betty Motley Obituary

Betty G. Motley, 89, of Fairview, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Flesher’s Fairview Rest Home.

Betty was born on January 31, 1936 in Orange County, FL to the late Shelby Gunn Gaskin and Shirley Donnell. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Motley.

Betty obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fl. She was employed as a teacher and secretary for most of her life. Betty was also very active in Christian local outreach and foreign missions.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Ellen S. Howard of Purvis, MS; sisters, Shirley G. Sweet of Hoschton, GA and Sally G. Gaskin of Fairview, NC; 4 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
