Betty Ramsey Obituary

            Betty Tomberlin Ramsey, age 85, passed away November 8, 2020, at her home in Asheville, North Carolina.

            Betty was born September 28, 1935, to the late Mary Ada Cox Tomberlin and Grover Tomberlin in Mars Hill, North Carolina. She was the previous owner of Emma Coal and Oil Company.

            In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her spouse, and Co-Owner of Emma Coal and Oil Company, Bruce Ramsey.

            Surviving her, are her four children and their spouses, Vickey and Jim Sides of Macon, Georgia, Michael and Sebrina Ramsey of Candler, NC, Michelle and Paul Willis Asheville NC, and Rebecca Ramsey of  New York City, NY ; her two grandchildren and their spouses, Sabrina and Garett Pitchford and William and Carrie Robinson; her great granddaughter, Madison Pitchford,; sisters Barbara McKinney and Brenda Shook; two nephews and one niece; and numerous much loved members of her extended family, including step-grandchildren and great-nephews.

            The family extends a special thanks to Four Seasons Hospice for their compassionate, and  exceptional care with Mom during her last days with us.  

             Within the bounds of pandemic-related restrictions, a Celebration of Betty’s Life will be planned at a later date.
