Bill Oldham of Hendersonville, NC, passed away peacefully at home on November 25th, 2022. Born in New Jersey, Bill moved to North Carolina in 1975, where he continued his art education and lived in Hendersonville.
Bill was an artist and music lover with an encyclopedic knowledge and love of 1960s and 1970s music- especially The Beatles. His great knowledge of cultural trivia also included comedy, including Monty Python’s Flying Circus and the TV show Seinfeld. He could and often did describe in detail what happened in every single episode.
Bill loved reading and learning about everything! He spent many hours at the Henderson County Public Library, and while downtown, he often could be seen briskly walking on Third or Fourth Avenues in his signature ball cap and flannel shirt.
A loving son, brother, and uncle, Bill was dedicated to helping care for his mother until her death in 1996 and his father until his death in 2020. His playfulness made him a favorite uncle and great uncle.
He was welcomed to his eternal home by his parents, George and Martha (Teeny), Sister Ellen, and Brother Charlie. Keeping his memory alive are brother John (Jess) of Islesboro, Maine, and sister Martha Huggins (Fred) of Hendersonville, North Carolina, his nieces Natalie and Rachel, and nephew Charlie, and many beloved great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Bill’s life was held in 2024 with family, love, music, and laughter.
