Billie Ann York

Billie Ann York, age 84 died late Friday evening September 7th at the Elderberry Healthcare with her family by her side. Billie was born on July 3rd, 1934 in Choctaw Oklahoma, to the late William and Fairy Burt. She was the youngest of 4 sisters, Nell, Mary, and Alma Burt. Their family moved to Long Beach California in her early childhood. She stayed a California resident for the majority of her life calling San Diego her home. Her home away from home was in the desert of Landers California. Billie attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California and worked as an executive assistant for Pier One Imports for over 30 years. She was voracious reader and a woman full of wit. Her family will remember her stories and her sense of humor. Billie was married to the late Robert Winton York and formerly married to the late Donald Stewart Hyder. She was the mother to Mark Stewart Hyder, Robert Winton York Jr. (Married to Michelle York), Sheila Hyder Paxton (Married to Richard Dwight Paxton) and Kelly York Bithell (Married to Vance Bithell and formally married to Rick Miller). She was a grandmother of 7 grandchildren: Jediah Stewart Hyder, Brian Joseph Hyder, Camille Whitney Paxton, Elizabeth Ann-Paxton McCurdy (Married to Marcus McCurdy), Ashlee Savannah Lewis (Married to Brandon Lewis), Robert Winton York III, and Tyler Daniel York. She was great grandmother of 5: Joshua Stewart Hyder, Samantha Nicole Hyder, Patrick Zachariah Hyder, Brianna Ariel Hyder, and Claire Elizabeth McCurdy. A private ceremony will be held by the family.
