Bruce “Buddy” Chandley, age 69, passed away on July 2, 2021 at Charles George VA Hospital in Asheville, NC. A kind, loving, gentle soul, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. An Army veteran, he served 6 years in Korea and Panama, as a cook. His favorite work experience was as a locksmith, in Florida. Hobbies included: fishing, camping, cooking, traveling, and caring for his beloved kitty, Miss Ellie. He would give you the shirt off of his back, and he reached out to others for lasting friendships. He was preceded in death by his parents, Taft and Hazel Chandley; an infant brother; brothers Bobby and JT Chandley; and sisters Lucille McDevitt, and Lela Trievel. Survivors include: Ronald (Patty) Chandley of Dandridge, Tennessee; Dennis Randall (Diana) Chandley of Dandridge, Tennessee; his twin sister, Ruth (Ed) Threlkeld of Clark, Missouri; and his favorite uncle and friend, John (Helen) Jordan of Asheville, NC. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends grieve his loss. His favorite quote was, “Forget the past, love, and put one foot in front of the other”. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made, in his name, to the Wounded Warrior Project.
