Cassie ( "Ed" ) Bargo Obituary


Retired Staff Sergeant Cassie “Ed”ward Bargo passed away on March 10, 2020 surrounded by his wife and children at the Community Living Center at the Veterans Affair facility in Asheville, North Carolina. He was 76.


Ed was born on September 13, 1943 in Mohegan, West by God Virginia, to Larna (Ward) Bargo and Raymond Bargo who both preceded him in death.


Ed married his soulmate Janet Kosior Bargo on January 11, 1980 and recently celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary.


Ed spent twenty years in the United States Army in transportation. He was also a combat veteran who served multiple tours in Vietnam. He was a very proud veteran! No matter who he encountered they were never a stranger. He enjoyed softball/baseball, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Janet (Weaverville, NC), son Michael (Heather) Bargo of Omaha, NE, daughter Michelle (Phillip) Wines of Weaverville, NC, daughter Laura Bargo and partner James Mccall of Asheville, NC, adoptive daughter Elizabeth Pena of Asheville, NC. Sister Nellie Jo (Lewis) Jameson, VA, Brother Gerald (Phyllis) Bargo, VA, sister Elizabeth Bethea, VA, Brother Donnie (Debbie) Bargo, VA, Brother in law Joseph (Denise) Kosior, Asheville, NC, Brother in law James (Debbie) Kosior, NJ and Brother in law John Kosior, Asheville, NC. His grandchildren were his pride and joy Tucker Moloney, Mackenzie “Peanut” Wines, Dalton Bargo, Richard “RJ” Wines, Sadie Bargo, Emma Wines and Danielle “Boss Baby” Wines. Ed is also survived by a number of nephews, nieces and cousins.


Ed is preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara, brother John, Brother Bill, sister Jackie and brother Dewey.


A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced.
