Charles "Charlie" Joseph Krug, 91, of Asheville passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Givens Estate Health Center. Born June 9, 1932 in New York, NY, the son of Charles Krug and Helen Hesch Krug. He was a graduate of Mt. St. Michael High School and alumnus of N.Y.U. with a Mechanical Engineering Degree and University of Buffalo with a Masters in Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired from Westinghouse Electric. Charlie was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church and served in the Boy Scouts of America. Of his many hobbies, collecting model trains and camping were among his favorites. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Edward Krug. Surviving are his spouse of 65 years, Marilyn Rose Spoon Krug; children, Alison Nolting and her spouse, John, of Belmont, NC, Stephen Krug of Orlando, FL, and Brian Krug and wife, Amanda Bailey, of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Veronica Pendergast and James of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; grandchildren, Eric Nolting and his spouse, Alecia, of Apex, NC, Alan Nolting and his spouse, Kirby, of Hickory, NC, Mason Krug of Orlando, FL, Ashton Krug of Chicago, IL, Hannah Worsham of Greenville, SC, and Lindsay Worsham of Florida . A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 30, 2023 at St. Eugene Catholic Church with Father Patrick Cahill officiating. Donations may be made in Charlie’s honor to Four Seasons hospice, 571 South Allen Street, Flat Rock, NC 28731, or St. Eugene Catholic Church, 72 Culvern Street, Asheville, NC 28804.
