Charlotte Y. Maxwell of Sarasota, Florida, passed Thursday, April 20, 2023 in Asheville, North Carolina. Born December 8, 1933, to the late Betty Rice and Calhoun Hunter Young in Atlanta, Georgia, Charlotte was eighty-nine.
Charlotte spent time living in Florida, New York, Ohio, North Carolina, Colorado and Hawaii before returning to Florida to live for the past fourteen years. She attended Daycroft School, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from University of Florida, a Masters in Counseling and Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from University of North Carolina-Asheville, and a Masters in Education from Western Carolina University. Charlotte was a self-employed hypnotherapist, an award-winning artist and a yoga teacher. She enjoyed writing, travelling to ancient sites, camping and hiking.
Surviving Charlotte is Murray B. Parker, to whom she was married thirty-three years; children, Elizabeth Maxwell (husband James Lamb) of Asheville, NC, and Dwight Maxwell (wife Maureen) of Columbus, OH; 6 grandchildren, Hadley Miller (wife Cassie) of Argyle, TX, Casey Maxwell of Fitchburg, MA, Natalie Sifuentes (husband Tim) of Asheville, NC, and Christopher Maxwell (wife Jessica) of Lompoc, CA, Eliana and Lennox Maxwell, of Columbus, OH; 5 great grandchildren, Aurora, Jovie, and Auley Miller, Atticus and Harrison Sifuentes.
