Daniel Alexander Ledbetter, a lifelong resident of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed December 9, 2020. He was eighty-seven.
Daniel was born to the late Grace Patty Ledbetter and Charles A. Ledbetter on August 1, 1933. He graduated from Hendersonville High School and served for eight years during the course of the Korean War in the United States Navy. Daniel worked for Belk’s Department Store as well as Sherman’s Superettes.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his spouse of 41 years, Billie Ledbetter; a brother, Walter Ledbetter; and children, Larry Freeman and Sherry Ledbetter.
He is survived by four children, Alex Freeman (Cheri) of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, Glenn V. Freeman III (Mary) of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Christine Ledbetter and Donna Ledbetter, both of North Carolina; his sisters, Allene Rogers (Don) of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Frances Edney of South Carolina, and Reba Kling (Allen) of Virginia; and his grandchildren, Zachary Freeman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Jami Freeman, Connor and Reece Stuart, all of Boiling Springs, South Carolina.
A private memorial service will be held to honor Daniel. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice, and the family extends a special thanks to the staff at Cherry Springs Village who took such good care of him.
