David Herbert Williams

David Herbert Williams, 64, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.

David was born on March 26, 1962, in Jamaica to Jeane Williams of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and the late Oswald Williams, who preceded him in death in 2014. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Esther Williams.

David attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. He proudly served his country as a pilot in the United States Air Force during the Gulf War. Following his military service, he began a career with Bryan Easler Toyota, where he worked faithfully for approximately 26 years.

Over the years, David attended First Baptist Church in Hendersonville and Grace Church in Mills River. At the time of his passing, he was attending Holly Springs Baptist Church and was also a proud member of the American Legion.

David loved spending time with his wife and their dogs, as well as camping, hiking, kayaking, enjoying good music and good food, shooting sports, and being outdoors. More than anything, he cherished every opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren, making memories with them whenever he could.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Heidi Williams; his children, Joshua Williams (Merrissa) of Colorado Springs, CO, Christopher Williams of Colorado Springs, CO, Mychal McLean (Michelle) of Niceville, FL, Devinne Williams of Hendersonville, NC, Meagan Campos (Chase) of Oxford, MS, and Eric Gusey of Asheville, NC; his brother, Richard Williams (Michelle) of Charlotte, NC; his cherished grandchildren, Kai, Maya, Liam, Lizzy, Charlotte, Bear, and Clemmy; his niece, Alyse Turner of Boulder, CO; his nephew, Aaron Turner of Boulder, CO; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

David loved the Lord and lived his life with a strong and unwavering faith. He was known for his steady spirit, wisdom, and discernment, always offering thoughtful advice and encouragement to those around him. One of his greatest gifts was making every person he met feel valued and important. When you were with David, you had his full attention, and he made you feel like you mattered.

He was generous, kind, compassionate, and deeply loved children. At family gatherings, he could almost always be found surrounded by the kids, laughing, playing, and making them feel special.

David and his wife, Heidi, were not only devoted spouses but also the best of friends. They shared a love for adventure and could often be found exploring the outdoors together, whether camping, hiking, or setting off on another memorable journey. Their bond was one of deep love, friendship, and unwavering devotion.

David was loved by all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt. While our hearts grieve, we take comfort in knowing that he is now in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ—alive and well. Until we meet again.
