Debra Janie Thompson

Debra Janie Thompson, 69, of Mills River, NC, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Swannanoa Health and Rehabilitation. Born December 15, 1955 in Asheville, NC, she was a daughter of Dorothy Ada Peek of Hendersonville, NC and the late Charles Lance. She loved the beach, enjoyed listening to her music, and having picnics with her family. Most of all she loved to spoil her grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and forever loved. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Bull Lance; grandson, Cody James Thompson; and uncle and aunt, James and Mildred Ruth. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Rodney Thompson of Arden, NC, Aaron Thompson and Mandy Moll both of Hendersonville, NC; siblings, Mildred McCarson of Hendersonville, NC, JoAnn Schwind of Columbus, OH, and Karen Stamey of Greeneville, TN; and grandchildren, Matthew Browning of Hendersonville, NC, Madison Thompson of Arden, NC, Hunter Ray of Arden, NC, Gavin Browning of Knoxville, TN, Tymber Thompson of Arden, NC, Xara Moll of Hendersonville, NC, and Haley Thompson of Hendersonville, NC. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from noon until 4 PM at Lake Julian Shelter #4.
