Donald Malamphy Obituary

Donald L. Malamphy, 60, passed away Saturday August 21, 2021, at his home in Clyde, North Carolina, after a hard battle with lung cancer.  Don is survived by his parents, Kip and Dolly Wilke of Sylva, his son Cody Malamphy of Castle Rock, Colorado, daughter Heather Cochran of Williston, North Dakota, nieces Brandi (Joseph) Sloop of Sylva, Saira Bartlett of Asheville, great niece Cora Sloop and great nephew Maverick Bartlett, along with multiple other siblings and relatives in Maryland and Pennsylvania.  Don was proceeded in death by his sister Davetta Malamphy Brooks.

Don was born November 27, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland and spent his teen years in Maryland and Pennsylvania before moving to Florida.  After a stint in the Navy,he returned to Florida and eventually found his way to NC.

He always had a love for ‘trucking’ and his lifelong dream of becomingowner/operator came true allowing him to travel the United States. On his down time he rode his Harley-Davidson as much possible.

His gift for gab, his Irish wit and wonderful sense of humor will be missed.  In lieu of flowers his family would like donations to a charity of your choice in his name.

A “Wake” will be held at his parents home October 16, 2021.  Details will be posted at a later date via social media.
