Dorothy Marie Schwobel

Dorothy Marie Schwobel, 93, of Columbus, NC passed away on December 3, 2025. She was born April 25, 1932, in Hackensack, NJ to the late Edwin and Alice Schwobel.

An inurnment in the Columbarium of the Memorial Garden, Tryon Estates, Columbus, NC will follow the memorial service at the Tryon Estates chapel at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Dorothy graduated in 1955 from the Hartford College for Women and Hartford Hospital School of Nursing, Hartford, Connecticut with a BS and diploma in nursing. In 1959, she graduated from Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, with a Master of Science in Nursing. She enjoyed a 35 year career in nursing, and was involved and committed to her professional organizations.

Dorothy was predeceased by her sister Ethel W. Piper (husband John). Dorothy is survived by her nephews Jeffrey Piper (wife Magda and children), Graham Piper (wife Christine), and niece Karen Boggan (husband Michael).
