Dorothy Marie Golding Smith, nineteen-year resident of Black Mountain, North Carolina, passed September 21, 2021. She was eighty-eight.
Dorothy was born August 22, 1933, to the late Marie Dayton Golding and Theodore Golding in Geneva, Illinois. Dorothy enjoyed needle point and knitting, but mostly sewing. She could make her own patterns out of brown paper bags and was known to make jackets, men’s ties, and dresses.
She was a Jehovah’s Witness, and because of her love of Jehovah God, she lived her life enjoying her ministry proclaiming God’s Kingdom. She valued helping others to find comfort and security in the hope of everlasting life on earth.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Charles Smith; siblings, John, Jean, Bob and Betty; son, Emil Charles Smith; daughter-in-law Marge Smith and son-in-law Barry Wetterling; and granddaughters, Kelly Rubelowski, Melissa Smith and Kyera Star Green.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Spears (Steve), Sarah Hamilton, Daniel Smith (Deborah), Ted Smith, Carol Wetterling and Dorothy Blaine (Bill); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.
