Elaine C. (Cowan) Sutton

Elaine “Cookie” Cowan Sutton of Asheville, North Carolina, passed Friday, June 10, 2022. Born May 2, 1938, to Hattie Christine Parker Cowan and Daniel Grady Cowan in Sylva, North Carolina, Elaine was eighty-four years old.

Elaine loved being with her family and friends, she loved to cook, and loved flowers and her independence. She was of Baptist faith. Elaine attended from Blantons Business College and was a caretaker and homemaker. She was a recent resident of Harmony at Reynolds Mountain.

Elaine’s siblings, Danny L. Cowan and Betty Lou Howell, preceded her in death.

She is survived by Robert L. Sutton, to whom she was married sixty-three years; daughters, Cynthia Loven Cline, Beverly Christine Singleton and Elizabeth Sutton Knight; grandchildren, Ryne Loven, Corey Loven, Taylor Loven, Cameron Singleton, Kaleigh Singleton, Hunter Knight and Clayton Knight; great-grandchildren, Zane Loven and Truex Singleton; and several wonderful nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
