Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Davis Huntley

            Elizabeth Ann Davis Huntley, “Libby,” passed away March 26, 2021, surrounded by family at her home in Arden, NC. She was 74.

            Libby was born January 26, 1947 to Loyd and Jean Shetley Davis. A native of Madison County, she was a mountain girl at heart, and therefore a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and Western North Carolina.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rodney Lauren Huntley of Arden, NC, a great grandchild Blake Tyler Flood, and two sisters, Edna Hylton and Thelma Davis, both of Madison County.

            After retiring from Eaton Cutler-Hammer she spent many years caring for close family members. She enjoyed gardening, beautifying her yard, and camping with her husband. She felt her most important role was that of caretaker to her husband following his kidney transplant and faced that with a tremendous amount of love and determination. One of her greatest joys in life was being a “Mimi” and nurturing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her passing will leave a void in our family that will never be filled.

            Libby is survived by two sons, John Ramsey (Roxanna) of Fletcher, NC, Tim Ramsey (Kim) of Westminster, SC, and one daughter, Melody Haynes (Scott Hudson) of Arden, NC, grandchildren Jonathan Ramsey, Sara Scott (Justin), and Evan Flood (Jackie), seven great grandchildren, Adily, Jaylee, Spencer, Peyton, Tyler, Tessa and Samuel, two brothers, James Davis and J.R. Davis, special best friends of many years Rita Valladares and Rose Meadows, and many nieces and nephews she loved as her own children.

            The family would like to extend sincere appreciation and gratitude to Patrick Ryan and Four Seasons Hospice for the compassionate, professional care they provided during our mother’s illness. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, we ask that you consider a memorial donation to Four Seasons in her honor.

            A private memorial is planned for June 5, 2021.
