Eric Goede

Eric Goede, 58, of Brevard, NC passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 in Hendersonville, NC.

Eric was born on March 22, 1967 to the late Ortwin M. Goede (2009) and Evon L. Goede (2019). He is also preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Eric Goede.

Eric resided in Pisgah Forest, NC and Oak Grove, MO before moving to Brevard, NC, where he lived for the last several years. He attended Blue Ridge Community College studying Computer Programing. He then became employed at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Eric loved working with computers, playing video games, and science fiction.

Eric is survived by his spouse of 38 years, Melissa Goede of Brevard, NC; children, Heather Goede of Pisgah Forest, NC, Andrew Goede of Pisgah Forest, NC, Nicholas Goede (Ash) of Brevard, NC; goddaughter, Audreyanna Lipshield (Mark) of Columbia, MO; godgrandchildren, Savanna Lipshield of Columbia, MO, Grace Lipshield of Columbia, MO, Annabelle Lipshield of Columbia, MO, Jasper Lipshield of Columbia, MO, Sebastian Lipshield of Columbia, MO; Brother-in-law, Dale Whitlock (Vessie) of Ocala, FL; nieces, Katie Whitlock (Tony) of Ocala, FL, Haley Stallings of Franklin, NC; aunt, Joyce Phillips; uncle, Steve Lyday (Alice); and 8 cousins.

The family will receive family and friends at 1 PM on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church, 805 Capps Road, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768. A service will follow at 1:30 PM with Shannon Owen officiating.
