Eunice Marie Cox Hamilton, 82, passed away Friday November 18 after a long illness. She was born on July 16, 1940 in Hendersonville to the late Lee and Evelyn Duncan. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by brother, Robert Duncan; sisters, Ruby, Geneva, JoAnn and Nancy, and her husbands Joe Cox and Rod Hamilton.
She is survived by her sons, Carl Cox ( Carolyn ), Jimmy Cox, and Ronald Cox, granddaughter, Amy Bryant (Ed), grandson, Aaron Waters, great-granddaughter Dawn Laws, sisters Hazel Cole and Doris Robinson and many nieces and nephews.
Eunice had a zest for life and a joy in being with her friends and family. She was a loving, giving person, devoted mother and grandmother and sister. She lived her faith and loved her church Black Mountain First Baptist Church, where she took care of the children in the nursery for many years.
Some of her favorite times were spent at GNO, Girls Night Out, a crafting group that meets every Friday. She was an avid greeting card maker and had a craft room that was the envy of all the crafters.
Eunice will be remembered for the joy and love she brought and for her quirky sense of humor and feistiness as well. She will be missed by so many.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at First Baptist Church, 130 Montreat Rd, Black Mountain, NC on Sunday, December 4th. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Black Mountain First Baptist Church, PO Box 656, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
