Frederick Michael Cayer passed Friday, October 1, 2021, at home in Waynesville, North Carolina. He was sixty-three.
Frederick was born September 14, 1958, to the late Doris Brown Supranovich in Providence, Rhode Island, and attended Ansonia High School. He studied Native American art, and was a maker of dream catchers, pottery, and other traditionally Native American crafts. Frederick’s work career was in nuclear power outages. He loved yard sales, and he was of Mormon faith.
In addition to his mother, Frederick was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Cayer, and sister, Francine Covellone.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Juanita C. Cayer; step-daughters, Amanda J. Wooten (David Haynes) of Arden, North Carolina, Shanna M.T. Bellow of Clyde, North Carolina, and Mollie B. Rutledge (Bill) of Virginia; son-in-law, Kaleb Gulley (Nicole) of Waynesville, North Carolina; sisters, Charlene Santore (Jack) of Connecticut, and Kathy Sondgrass (Tom) of California, and brothers, Jim Cayer (Laurie) of Connecticut, and Marty McMillan (Julie) of Michigan; and step-grandchildren, Trey Haney, Tiana Sams, and Devin and Daegen Haynes all of Arden, North Carolina, James Bellows, Jayce Gulley, Chloe, Avery and Collier all of Waynesville, North Carolina, and Brooks and T.J. Rutledge of Virginia.
A service will be held to honor Frederick at three o’clock the afternoon of Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Susanna Wesley Garden of Lake Junaluska. The family extends a special thanks to hospice, Lincare, and to Brenda Albright.
