Gary Keith Syfrett

Gary Keith Syfrett, aged 77, passed away, October 16, 2024, in Asheville, NC.

Gary was born on October 2, 1947, to the late Eugene Syfrett and Barbara Syfrett. He went to Georgia State University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. Gary was a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the highly coveted, Purple Heart. He enjoyed golf, hunting with his son and spending time with family at Lake Chatuge, NC.

In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in passing by his sister, Gwendolyn Rasmussen.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Rhonda McKinney Syfrett; son, Scott Syfrett of Fort Bragg, NC; siblings, Barbara Hodge of Douglas, GA, and Karl (Vicki) Syfrett of Chipley, FL; grandchildren, John Syfrett, Brantley Syfrett, Atley Syfrett, Kai Syfrett; and many more loved ones, Austin (Janae) Syfrett of Panama City, Fl, Drake Syfrett of Panama City, FL, Devin (Sharon) Dorminy of Greensboro, NC, Deanne Dorminy of Morrisville, NC, Denise (Brian) Foreman of Raleigh, NC.

A service will be held October 26, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Sand Hill Baptist Church, 190 Moody Ave, Candler, NC 28715. Pastor Rick McCarson will be Officiating.
