George Thomas Lamb

George Thomas Lamb, 86, of Asheville, NC passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025. Born March 6, 1939 in Asheville, NC he was a son of the late Homer and Rachel Lamb. He was employed and retired from Carolina Truck and Body. He enjoyed drag racing, sports, trucks, and car shows but, there was nothing more important to him than spending time with his family. Some of their best memories of George are sharing meals around the campfire. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Willie June Hannah Lamb; siblings, James Norton, Bill Lamb, Eveolean Dodd, Alice Ann Waldroup, and Dennis Lamb; and granddaughter, Sara Metcalf Gardner. Surviving are his children, Kathy Metcalf and her husband , Gene, of Asheville, NC, Marie Souther and her spouse, Tony, of Hendersonville, NC, Crystal Lamb (Chris) of Asheville, NC, and Tina Keith of Fletcher, NC; grandchildren, Tegan Villalva, Georgianna Emrich and her spouse, Matthew, Jace Banks, Jayden Banks and her spouse, Adamaris, of Asheville, NC, Jamey Ann Banks of Asheville, NC, Jacelyn Banks  of Black Mountain, NC, Jaryn Banks of Asheville, NC, and Nicholas Metcalf of Weaverville, NC; great-grandchildren, Maggie Gardner,  Lukah June Banks, and Liam Harris; and several nieces and nephews in both Asheville, NC, Illinois and Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Feed and Seed in Fletcher, NC. Bring your favorite dish for the potluck after the service. A private internment will be at a later date.
