George Joseph Ricci

George Joseph Ricci, 90, of Waynesville passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at his home.  Born February 23, 1931 in Sleepy Hollow, NY, he was the son of the late Domenico and Cecelia Ricci.  He was a graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School, and enlisted in the New York Air National Guard where he earned the rank of Master Sargent.  He was devout in his Catholic faith and a carpenter by trade.  Some of his hobbies were billiards, Bocci ball, bowling, roller-skating, ball room dancing, motorcycling, and spending time with his family. George is preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Ricci is survived by his ex-wife, Ingrid Ricci; children, Jody Cypher and her spouse, Clifton, of Waynesville, Karen Wilson and her spouse, Chuck, of Centennial, CO, George Ricci, Jr. of Waynesville, and Liane Ricci and her spouse, Whit Coppedge, of Chapel Hill; sister, Josephine Cherubini of Chappaqua, NY;  5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date in Sleepy Hollow, New York.  The family would like to recognize hospice for the wonderful care that they provided.
