George "Jeff" Jeffrey Rivers

George Jeffrey Rivers, “Jeff” 60, of Flat Rock, NC passed away on May 21, 2025. Jeff was born on April 28, 1965 in East Flat Rock, NC to the late George Junior Rivers and Elizabeth Marie Jones of Hendersonville, NC.

In addition to his father, Jeff was preceded in death by his sister, Susan “Susie” J. Rivers; nephew, Wayne Stepp; father-in-law, John W. Collins; brother-in-law, Bruce W. Glover; and mother-in-law, Nancy J. Collins.

Jeff lived in East Flat Rock, NC. A graduate of East High School and Blue Ridge Tech, he built a career at Byers Precision Fabricators. Outside of work, he had a passion for the outdoors and craftsmanship, enjoying hunting, fishing, swimming, and woodworking.

Surviving Jeff is his loving spouse of 35 years, Nancy Annette Rivers of Flat Rock, NC; son, Christopher Michael Merrell of Hendersonville, NC; sister, Dianna “Dy” Stepp of Hendersonville, NC; grandchild, Tanner Merrell of Hendersonville, NC; Brother -in-laws Terry Collins, and wife Laura of Flat Rock, NC, Tim Collins, and wife Tennile of Hendersonville, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

Rev. David Price will be officiating.

To celebrate the life of Jeff Rivers the family asks that everyone write down a special memory or memories to share. He touched so many lives in his 60 years in many different ways. He was one of a kind that was for sure. Jeff Rivers will be missed.
