Harmon “Lee” Loy, 77, of Biltmore Lake, NC, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Asheville, NC. He was born on March 1, 1949, in Burlington, NC, to the late Harmon Loy (1999) and Lila Loy (2004).
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Loy, and his son, Jeffrey Loy.
Lee made his home in Biltmore Lake for the past 22 years, having previously lived in Burlington, Shelby, Fayetteville, and Asheville. He graduated from Elon College (now Elon University) with a B.A. in 1971 and proudly served in the United States Air Force. His professional life included work as an IRS revenue officer, Collections Manager, and later as an enrolled agent specializing in tax resolution.
He was deeply committed to his community and was an active member of the Enka Schools Foundation, the Biltmore Lake Charitable Fund, Central United Methodist Church, and the North Carolina Society of Enrolled Agents. Lee had a lifelong love of weather and baseball, interests that brought him joy throughout his life.
Lee is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Amy Loy; his daughter, Lisa Loy Connors (Gene Connors) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his brother, David Loy (Pat Loy) of Burlington, NC; his granddaughter, Emily Connors of Saint George, SC; his nieces and nephews, Karen Lovings (Keith Lovings) of Asheboro, NC, Sharon Shawver (Steve Shawver) of Burlington, NC, John Loy (Maddy Loy) of Hillsboro, NC, Mark Wagoner (Tammy Wagoner) of Elon, NC, Michael Vaughn (Jennifer Vaughn) of Graham, NC, and Keith Wagoner (Shannon Wagoner) of Burlington, NC; and his sister-in-law, Linda Way (Roger).
A celebration of Lee’s life will be held on May 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Central United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow. Dr. Mary Brown and Rev. Lisa Rettew will officiate. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
