Harold Hensley

     John Steve ‘Harold’ Hensley, 78, of Brevard passed away on March 17, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville, NC.                

     Harold was born September 19, 1939 to the late Lewis Ellsworth Hensley and Elizabeth Gravley Hensley. Harold proudly served in the United States Army and worked at Colburn Communications for many years. Harold was a loving family man who adored his many nieces and nephews. His great great triplet nieces held a special place in his heart and lovingly referred to him as “Papaw”.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph P. Hensley and Lewis Hensley Jr.; and a sister Nell Marie Hensley.

     He is survived by three sisters, Barbara Stepp and Mildred Cash, both of Brevard, and Martha Stephens and husband Roger of Sylva; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
