Harriett Ann (Beck) Justice

Harriett Ann “Granny” Beck Justice, 69, of Black Mountain, NC passed away at the Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC on May 1st, 2022.  She was born on April 7th, 1953 in Waynesville, NC to the late James Ray Beck and Beulah Lee Conard Beck.  Harriett loved her family and took care of a lot of children that were not hers.

Harriett is preceded in death by her six brothers: Fred Beck, John Beck, Jimmy Beck, Frank Beck, Tom Beck, and Charlie Beck; her three sisters: Marth Calloway, Georgia Mae Beck, and Jane Plemmons; and a grandchild: James Hensley, Jr.  She is survived by her three daughters: Martha Jane Beck, of Gastonia, NC, Glenda Shearer, of Burnsville, NC, and Connie Shearer, of Swannanoa, NC; her son, Fred Shearer “Kelly King”, of Oteen, NC; her daughter, Christine Shearer, of Asheville, NC, and Pamela Fountain, who she treated like her own daughter, of Swannanoa, NC.  She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Ray Beck “Janice Diane Beck”, of Leicester, NC; her grandchildren, Katie Justice, Hailey Justice, Jazimine Lanning, and My-kylah Morris, all of Asheville, NC, Kevin Shearer, of Oteen, NC, Joseph Hensley, Brian Hensley, of Burnsville, NC, Leland Lowery, of Burnsville, NC; her great-grandchildren, Lilliana Cuebas, of Asheville, NC, Elizabeth Hensley, and Carson Walker, of Burnsville, NC.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Mission Hospital and her dear special doctor at Mahec, Dr. Daniel Frayne, that was so thought of.  Thank you, mama, for loving me like your daughter. -Pamela Fountain.  You fought your illness for 25 years and you were such a strong woman.  You were very loved by all.
