Herbertlean Bailey Jackson

Herbertlean Bailey Jackson, aged 81, of Candler, NC passed away on April 6, 2024 in Weaverville, NC.

Bailey was a native of Cherokee County and a resident of Candler, NC for many years. He was the son of the late Marie Scott and Bernard Jackson. Bailey was predeceased by his wife, Carlena Newman Jackson. Surviving are her son, James Newman and wife Kristy Newman; grandsons-in-law Chase and Chanze Newman.

Surviving are his daughter, Sonia Lynette Moore Scruggs and husband Callen Scruggs of Athens, TN and his sister Jean Jackson of NY; Granddaughters, TyShika Lynette Scruggs Benton of Athens, TN and Sonia LeeAnne Scruggs of Chattanooga, TN. Great grandsons, Jaeceion Kyreik Spann, Rashaed Jrue Benton, Raekwon Jeremiah Benton, Makari Tailyn Scruggs and Shawn Lamont Foremen; great granddaughters, Tati’Aira Alana Benton and Pandora Leilani DeSouza. Nephews, Hosea, Santas and Phillippo Jackson of Asheville, NC. Nieces, Sandra and Meiko Jackson of Asheville, NC; Marcia Jackson Shabazz and Keisha Jackson-Graham of NY. Grandnephews, Elijah, Jamal, Malik Shabazz and Malcolm Jackson. Grandnieces, Maliyah and Malirah Graham and great grand nieces, Aniyah Gates and Yahri Graham. There are many more grandnephews, grandnieces, great grandnephews and great grandnieces that are not named here.

A Visitation for Herbertlean Bailey Jackson will be held on May 26, 2024 at the chapel of, Asheville Area Alternative, 702 Riverside Drive, Asheville, NC 28801 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flowers are welcomed.
