Herman “Johnny” Arthur Crisp, age 86, of West Haywood Street, Asheville, NC, passed away on January 6, 2021, in hospice.
He was a US Army Veteran and a retired supervisor with the City of Asheville Street Department. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Crisp, and mother, Helen Crisp; sisters Naomi Jordan and Dorothy Hollifield, and brother Lloyd Crisp. Herman cared deeply for his wife and his family. He was the greatest husband, father, granddad, brother, uncle, and friend to all. He had an enormous heart and magnetic spirit that people couldn’t help but be drawn to him. He made friends anywhere and everywhere he would go. He had a passion for life and lived it to its fullest till the end. He will truly be missed and remembered in the hearts of many family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patricia Crisp; a brother, Jack Crisp; daughters Frances “Cricket” Crisp Moore, Cynthia Gaddy, Hellen Crisp Wojtkowiak, Judy Crisp Randall, Diane Crisp Kuykendall, Teresa Michelle Watts, Tina Kuykendall Ray, and a son, David Creasman; 17 grandkids; 44 great-grandkids; and 4 great-great-grandkids.
