Howard Hensley

Howard Hensley, 79, of Leicester, NC went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 11th, with his wife, Sandra by his side at the Care Partners Solace Center.

He was born to the late Harley & Hazel Bridges Hensley.  He also had four brothers, the late Harley Jr., and his surviving brothers, Herman (Janet) of Savannah, Gene (Pat), of Huntersville, and Huie (Ellen), of Leicester.

Howard attended Leicester Baptist Church where he loved to hear the preaching of God’s word and hearing the choir sing.

Howard was a 1963 graduate of North Buncombe High School, and was employed nearly 50 years at Winn Dixie.

Howard is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sandra McKinney Hensley, two daughters, Pam Hensley of Leicester, Rhonda Wallace (Mark), of Asheville, 5 grandchildren, Traci Shook (Charles), Jamie Robinson (Daniel), Morgan Taylor, Presley Wallace and Carson Wallace.  All of the grand kids and great-grand kids referred to him as Pappy.  He also had 6 great-grandchildren, Cade, Cole, and Cord Shook, Paisley Owen, Knox, and Beau Robinson.

“Pappy” loved his family, and worried about all his babies as he referred to them.  We love you Pappy!!
