James Allen Hensley, 79, of Fletcher, NC, passed away peacefully in his residence on April 22, 2022, from natural causes. Jim was born on November 9, 1942, to Ford and Arlevia Hensley in Lyman, SC.
After Jim graduated from Bethune High School, he joined the National Guard. Later, Jim began a career in the electrical field. He acquired his NC electrical license and became a contractor. He started his own company, Hensley and Son’s Electric.
Jim was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 50 Courtland Avenue in Asheville, NC.
Jim is survived by his wife of 55 ½ years, June Marlene Smith Hensley, and by his two sons, Mark Hensley, and Mike Hensley, both of Fletcher, NC, his two grandsons, Bryce Hensley of Haw Creek, NC and Trey Hensley of Leicester, NC, and his granddaughter, Shannon Hensley of Marion, NC, his great granddaughter, Gracelynn, and his great grandson, Jax. Jim is also survived by his brother, Doug Hensley (Gail), of Asheville, NC, and his sister, Carol Bennett (Gary), of Asheville, NC. Jim is also survived by 9 nieces and 5 nephews, and numerous cousins. Jim was proceeded in death by his older brother, Bill Hensley (Rose) of Brigham City, Utah, and both of his parents.
Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 50 Courtland Avenue in Asheville, NC on April 30, 2022 at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice.
