James Thomas Jones, Jr.

James Thomas Jones, Jr., 77, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away, Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at his residence.

     Mr. Jones was born in LaGrange, Georgia, to the late James Thomas Jones and Louise Priddy Jones. He earned a BS degree at the University of Georgia and an MS degree at Southern Methodist University. He served his country proudly during the Vietnam conflict in the United States Air Force, with whom he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, after many years of dedicated service. He was an avid woodworker, photographer and enjoyed RVing. He will be greatly missed.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert H. Jones.

     Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of thirty years, Meril-Lee Jones; a daughter, Andrea Priddy Jones; a son, James Thomas Jones, III; a granddaughter, Julie Anna Jones; and two grandsons, Mark Thomas Jones and Steven Thomas Jones.

     A memorial service will be held at a later date.

     Jim frequently said that he had a wonderful family, wife and friends. Having no regrets, he lived his life to the fullest.
