James Larry Taylor Sr.

James Larry “Fat” Taylor Sr., age 77, of Weaverville, NC passed away on January 1, 2024 at his home. James was born on March 21, 1946 to the late Albert Leo Taylor and Ruby A. Lamb Taylor.

James proudly served our country during the Vietnam War. He liked his hot rod cars, pulling pranks on everyone, and putting together jigsaw puzzles.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sisters, Tina J. Taylor Mashburn and Donna R. Taylor Mashburn; his brothers, Ronnie L. Taylor and Mitchell T. Taylor. Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, James L. Taylor Jr., of Weaverville, NC and Joey M. Taylor of Fairview, NC; a daughter, M. Ellen Taylor of Canton, NC; his brothers, Gene A. Taylor of Fairview, NC and Richard “Ricky” Taylor of Asheville, NC. James is also survived by his grandchildren, James L. Taylor III of Waynesville, NC, Alexandra R. Taylor Marlow of Wilson, NC, Deanna R. Taylor of Arden, NC, Devin M. Claridge White of Ruston, LA, Dustin J. Taylor of Canton, NC, Alyssa R. Taylor of Arden, NC, Johnathan M. Taylor, and Bryan J. Taylor, both of Fairview, NC; 9 great grandchildren; and his beloved baby, Thumper.
