Joan Kay (Hunter) McPeters

Joan Kay Hunter McPeters, age 78, of Alexander, was born in Asheville, NC on October 20, 1944 to the late Fred and Bernisa Hunter. She entered Heaven’s gates on September 21, 2023 in the early afternoon with Grant and Kelly by her side. What a reunion she is having with her loved ones.

A loving mother, homemaker and a warrior. Some of the things that Joan loved was the Lord most of all, church, singing, cooking, crafting, crocheting, gardening, birds, flowers and spending time with her family and friends. Joan will be remembered as a selfless, loving mother and grandmother who always had a smile, even when times were tough. She had amazing strength throughout her long fought illnesses. We will miss her wonderful sense of humor, whit, charm and most of all her love. Joan's personality and love touched all those who knew her. We are at peace knowing she is no longer suffering and knowing we will see her in Heaven again some day.

Joan was predeceased by her loving husband Arthur Wayne Mcpeters and her parents Fred and Bernisa Hunter.

Joan is survived by her son Grant McPeters and his wife Kelly, and her grandson Caleb McPeters. Sister Patsy Grooms and her husband Jimmy, Brother Tim Hunter and wife Sandy. Niece Melanie Grooms.

A private graveside service will be held at Red Oak Cemetery, Weaverville, NC 28787.
