John Daniel Dorn

John Daniel “Danny” Dorn, 76, of Flat Rock, NC passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the Orchard Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Hendersonville, NC. Born July 1, 1949 in Franklin, NC, he was a son of the late Cleo and Lela Dorn. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War receiving both the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. While serving in the U.S. Army, he accepted God in his heart and was baptized. After his time in the military, he went to work for Cranston Print Works where he eventually retired. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Dorn Fugate, and a brother, Richard Dorn. Surviving are his spouse, Dora Gray Dorn; son, Jonathan Dorn and his spouse, Morgan, of Hendersonville, NC; siblings, Lawrence Dorn, Bobby Dorn, Johnny Dorn, Ruth Hughes, Betty Ramsey, and Sally Dorn; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
