Johnny William Moore Jr.

Johnny William Moore Jr., aged 43, of Asheville, NC, passed away May 3, 2024.

Johnny was born December 23, 1980, to the late Johnny Moore Sr. and step-mother Barbara Moore. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Johnny retired from the Marine Corps, as a third generation veteran, where he received the following honors: Navy and Marie Corps Achievement Medal (Combat V), Combat Action Ribbon (Iraq), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2nd Awd.), Kosovo Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, NATO Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Mast, Rifle Qualification Badge (Expert 2d Awd).

In addition to his parents he is proceeded in passing by his grandparents, Jimmie Mae Fox and Richard Fox; and nephew, Thaddius Alexander ‘’Tad’’ Martin.

Johnny is survived by his siblings, Karen (Sonny) Martin, Angela (Dale) Shuffler, Teresa (Conrad) Holbrook; brother in Christ, James Aaron Clackler; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 1st at 10:00 AM on the lawn of Hot Springs Resort and Spa at 315 Bridge St, Hot Springs, NC 28743. The service will be officiated by Reverend Sonny Martin with military service acknowledgments by United States Air Force Sergeant Lauren R. Nolan.  Johnny will be laid to rest at Hot Springs.
